Jean-Christophe Geiser Principal organist at the Cathedral

The celebrated Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 expresses the breath of the Spirit and the tongues of fire, symbols of this Pentecost day. It will precede the longest organ work ever composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, the Partita on the chorale “Sei gegrüsset, Jesu gütig”, as well as a “best of” selection of the composer’s organ works from the Leipzig cantor.
Franz Liszt, who was also active in Leipzig, will conclude the concert with a tribute transcription of Cantata BWV 21.
