CHŒUR DE LA CATHÉDRALE DE LAUSANNE / ORCHESTRE NEXUS

The Stabat Mater by Antonín Dvořák, created in Prague in 1880, is one of the great choral works of Romanticism.
Born from profoundly painful family mourning, it transforms the composer’s intimate suffering into a musical meditation of intense humanity. With a remarkable symphonic colour, the work entrusts the choir with most of its expressiveness, supported by a rich and warm orchestration. Rather than dramatic excess, Dvořák favours inner emotion, moving from lament to hope. This spiritual and musical journey culminates in a luminous finale, where pain seems to be transcended by faith and consolation.
