Björn O. Wiede
Björn O. Wiede was born in 1962. He was a singer in the famous boys’ choir Dresdner Kreuzchor and studied in Dresden, Hamburg and Munich. He received training in cello, harpsichord, piano, conducting and organ. First organist of Ulm Cathedral, he became Nikolaikantor in Potsdam in 1994, where he developed an intense musical activity for the State of Brandenburg: construction of the new main organ (2014–17), direction of the Nikolaichor Potsdam and the Symphony Orchestra of Europe.
In addition to the classical oratorios, the vocal and instrumental works of Bach and the symphonies of Beethoven are particularly close to his heart. Wiede regularly gives concerts in Germany and in many European countries, as well as in Venezuela and the United States. He has received the title of Kirchenmusikdirektor. He is also a composer.
